Glenn Andre Lanoue
5th August 1955 - 12th November 2011
 Mr.
Glenn Andre Lanoue, 56, of Orleans, VT passed away November 12, 2011 in
Burlington, VT. He was born August 5, 1955 in Newport, VT a son of
Irene (Carbone) Lanoue and the late Rouville Lanoue. He graduated from
Lake Region Union High School in the class of 1973. On August 30, 1986
he married Carlene Mosher who survives him. Mr. Lanoue was a masonry
worker and for 17 years he was employed at the Orleans Country Club. He
was a NASCAR fan of driver Jeff Burton, New York Yankee fan, and he
enjoyed fishing trips, golfing and horse racing with his good friend
Lyman. He also enjoyed many adventurous road trips with his friends. He
was a member of the Orleans Country Club. He is survived by his wife
Carlene Lanoue of Orleans, his two children whom he adored: Derek
Lanoue of Orleans, and Kelley Lanoue and her friend Eric Chadburn of
Concord,VT. He is also survived by his mother Irene Lanoue of Orleans,
his brother Peter Lanoue and his wife Joanne of Orleans, his nephews
Shawn Lanoue and his wife Sheena and Jonathan Dimick ,Brandon
Campilango, Greg Perkins and Christopher Mosher, his nieces Barbara
Rowell and her husband E.J.; Lindsay Perkins and her friend Derrick and
many great nieces and nephews.He is also survived by his sisters-in-law
Crystal Perkins and her husband Michael of Irasburg,VT, Connie
Campilango and her husband Scott of Saratoga Springs, NY, and by his
brother-in-law Craig Mosher and his friend Penny of NY. Glenn loved his
family and friends dearly. He had a great sense of humor and liked to
make people laugh. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on
Thursday November 17,2011 at St. Theresa’s Church in Orleans with the
Rev. Tim Naples celebrating a mass of Christian burial. Friends may
call at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Home, 4670 Darling
Hill Road, Newport on Thursday November 17, 2011 from 9:30 A.M. until
10:30 A.M. Interment will follow in St. Theresa’s Cemetery. Should

10th September 1916 - 9th November 2011
Rouville S. Lanoue, 95, of Orleans passed away November 9, 2011 in Newport. He was born September 10, 
1916 in Brownington, VT a son of Polydor and Evelina (Choiniere)
Lanoue. On April 19, 1953 he married Irene Carbone who survives him.
Mr. Lanoue was a veteran of WW11. During his lifetime he co-owned and
operated Lanoue’s IGA Grocery Store in Orleans with his brother Maurice
(Pitt) and was also a mail carrier for the United States Post Office
where he retired in 1979. He was a member of the Benevolent Order of
the Elks #2155, the American Legion Post #23 for 66 years and was past
post commander and he was a charter member of the Orleans Lion’s Club
where he received the Melvin Jones Award its highest honor. Rouville
was a past president of the Orleans Country Club. His hobbies included
golfing, and driving all over Northeast Kingdom and loved being a
Vermonter. He also was a woodworker and donated his crafts to the
Church. He is survived by his wife Irene Lanoue of Orleans, his sons
Peter Lanoue and his wife JoAnne , and Glenn Lanoue and his wife
Carlene all of Orleans. He is also survived by his grandchildren Shawn
and his wife Sheena, Derick, Kelley, Barbara and her husband E.J. and
Jonathan and by great grandchildren Chelsea, Kristen, Austin, Cara,
Madison, Logan, Gavan, and Enoch John V, his sister Gesele Rinewalt of
Pottstown, PA, and by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by
three brothers John, Maurice and Roland Lanoue, and by two sisters:
Alice Gangemi, and Yolande Banasiak. Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. On
Monday November 14, 2011 at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral
Home, 4670 Darling Hill Road, Newport. Funeral services will be held at
11;00 A.M. Tuesday November 15, 2011 at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church
in Orleans with the Rev. Tim Naples celebrating a mass of Christian
burial. Interment will follow St. Theresa’s Cemetery with full military
honors. Should friends desire, contributions in his memory may be made
to the Lake Region Senior Center, 15 Main Street, Orleans, VT 05860.

Verna E. Bontempo
12th March 1912 - 9th June 2011

NORTHAMPTON - Verna E. (Rolland) Bontempo, 99, of 615 Spring St., died Thursday, June 9, 2011, at Linda Manor in Leeds. Born
on March 12, 1912, she was the daughter of the late George and Melinda
(Tessier) Rolland. She worked side by side with her husband, Albert, at
the Bontempo Golf Range in Hatfield, at Northampton C.C., where he was
the pro, and at Orleans C.C. in Orleans, Vt. She also ran the kitchen
at Northampton C.C. for many years. She was an avid golfer and club
champion at Northampton Country Club, and bowled in a league into her
late 80s. She loved playing bridge, dominoes and cribbage. She was the
matriarch of her family, and was always there to lend a helping hand or
advice to anyone who needed it. She was a communicant of Annunciation
Church in Florence for many years, and of St. Catherine's Parish in
Leeds. The wife of the late Albert J. Bontempo, who died in
1978, Verna is survived by her sister, Martha L. Hayes of Leeds, and
her many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Leonard;
her brothers, Harvey Rolland of Florence, Arthur of Leeds, Ernest of
East Hartford, Conn. and Leroy (Bucky) of Enfield, Conn., and her
sisters Edna Heon and Leah Bachand of Leeds, and Viola Bertrand of
Florence. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, June 14, at 10
a.m. at the Ahearn Funeral Home, 783 Bridge Road, Northampton, followed
by a Mass of Christian Burial at Annunciation Chapel in Florence at 11
a.m. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery in Northampton.
Calling hours were on Monday, June 13, from 4 to 7 p.m. We would like
to extend heartfelt thanks to everyone at Linda Manor, and the nurses
and staff of Forestview for their loving care and guidance for the past
year and a half. They helped Verna to live and die with dignity and
grace. Contributions in Verna's memory may be made to Linda Manor
Extended Care Facility Attn: Activity Dept., 349 Haydenville Road,
Leeds, Massachusetts.   The above photo of Orleans Country Club
was presented to Verna and Al Bontempo at Al's retirement party during
the mid 1970's. The family graciously returned the photo to Orleans
Country Club where it now hangs above the fireplace mantel in the
Director's Room.

Florence "Sally" (Kipp) Leibold
26th February 1926 - 12th February 2011

Florence
Kipp Leibold, 84, a former resident of Orleans, died on Saturday,
February 12, 2011, at the Greensboro Nursing Home in Greensboro. She
was born in Needham, Massachusetts, on February 26, 1926, a daughter of
Frederic and Caroline (MacIntyre) Hawkins. She grew up in
Massachusetts with half-sisters. She graduated from Newton High
School and worked briefly in a children's store. She met her
future hustand, Richard Kipp, who was serving in the Coast Guard, at a
USO party for officers who had returned from their tour of duty in
Australia and New Zealand. They married in April 1946 and moved
to Burlington while Mr. Kipp finished school then to Newark, New
Jersey, where he taught biology. They then decided to return to
Orleans where he joined his father's insurance agency. They made
their home in Orleans where they raised their family. Mr. Kipp died on
March 2, 1988. She later married Charles Leibold in January of
1992. He died on October 26, 2002. Her home with both
husbands was in Orleans and she enjoyed winters in Haines City,
Florida, with both as well. Mrs. Leibold was diagnosed with
Parkinson's Disease but pursued her many interests in spite of
this. She and Mr. Leibold were accomplished painters and enjoyed
the art club in Florida. She was a longtime member of the Orleans
Country Club and loved golfing and socializing there. She was an
avid reader and member of the Book and Thimble Club; and enjoyed her
bridge club. She was also a member of the Orleans Federated
Church. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a great love of
her family. Upon failing health, she resided for a time at the
Craftsbury Community Care Center in East Craftsbury and transfered to
Greensboro Nursing Home in Greensboro in November of 2007. She was
very much loved and enjoyed by the staff at the nursing home. Mrs.
Leibold leaves a son, Steven Kipp, of Daytona Beach, Florida, and his
friend, Charlene Cook, of Glover; a daughter, Martha Lanham and her
husband, Paul, of Enola, Pennsylvania; a step-son, the Reverend Dr.
Robert Leibold and his wife, Ilse, of Bayville, New York; a
half-sister, Lois Rich of Malden, Massachusetts; grandchildren Greta
Kipp of Irasburg, John Kipp of Orleans, Justin Kipp of Portland, Maine,
Sergeant Trevor  Lanham and his wife, Jessica, of Marina, California,
Kipp Lanham of Washington, D.C.; newborn great-granddaughter Cora
Lanham of Marina;  sister-in-law Betty Thurber of Middlebury; and other
extended family. She was predeceased by both husbands, Richard
Kipp and Charles Leibold; a son, Lawrence F. Kipp, who died September
10, 2010; a granddaughter, Brooke Kipp, who died March 2, 1998; and a
sister, Lydia. A funeral service
was held on February 15 at the Orleans Federated Church in
Orleans. Interment in Pleasant View Cemetery will be in the
spring. Contributions in her memory may be made to the American
Parkinson’s Disease Association, Vermont Chapter, care of Department of

Sally
once served as Director on the OCC Board and was instrumental in seeing
that water was on the course. Sally developed the plans for
the stations, which are on holes eight and fifteen. The
left photo is the water station on hole #8 and was named "Sally's
Watering Station" in her honor. The tree next to the bench is the memorial for her first husband, Richard Kipp. On the right, as seen through the garden from the 11th green is the water station located on hole #15. They were refurbished in 2010 by Huz
Joseph.

Rudolph A. Mossa
6th May 1924 - 25th July 2010
Rudolph A. Mossa, 86, of Barton, passed away July 25, 2010, in Glover.
He was born May 6, 1924, in Newport, a son of Augustus and Grace
(Bishop) Mossa.
On May 17, 1947, he married Leah Turcotte who
predeceased him on Dec. 31, 2005. He entered the United States Navy and
served his Country during WWII. Rudy at one time worked for the
Canadian Pacific Railroad as a freight agent. He then opened his own TV
sales and service business in 1955 which he operated for several years.
He also repaired electric fencers that were sent to him from all over
the United States.
He and Leah played golf for many years and he
was past president of the Orleans Country Club. He held membership with
the Barton American Legion Post #76 and the Barton Bishop Ryan Council
#2933. Rudy enjoyed gardening and took great pride in having his
property looking top notch.
He is survived by his daughter
Rose Harper and her husband Woodie of Barton, his grandchildren: Sean
Harper and his fiancée Stephanie Piette of St. Albans, and Alexis
Harper of Barton, his sister-in-law Jeanne Perry of North Carolina and
by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two half brothers
George and Kenneth Percy.
A graveside service will be held at 2
p.m. on Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at Pine Grove Cemetery in Newport
with military honors. Should friends desire, contributions in his
memory may be made to the Rudy Mossa Memorial Bench Fund in care of the
Orleans Country Club, Orleans, VT 05860.

Rose Malinowski
10th April 1922 - 4th May 2010
Rose
Malinowski, 88, formerly of Morgan, died on May 4, 2010, in Santa
Barbara, California, after a long bout with cancer. She was born in
Ludlow, Massachusetts, on April 10, 1922. She lived in
Massachusetts until 1967 when she and her husband, Edward, who survives
her, moved to Morgan Center. They spent many happy years there
until retirement, and then spent summers in Vermont and winters in
Arizona. In 2005, they moved to Goleta, California. Besides her
husband, she is survived by her daughter Marjorie and her husband,
Guenther, of Las Vegas; her son Peter and his wife, Teri, of Santa
Barbara, California; a sister, Nancy Cavin, who lives in Massachusetts;
and a brother Walter in Arizona. She also leaves her two
granddaughters, Susan Henrichs and Diane Hughes, and her
great-granddaughter Isabelle Hughes. She was a longtime member of the
Orleans Country Club and the Circle of Friends in Morgan.

wanted to let you know that our good friend Rose Malinowski died
Tuesday in Santa Barbara, CA, soon after she was transferred from a
convalescent home to a hospice facility. Ed had fallen and broken some
ribs and she was also in severe pain, so they both were in the nursing
home with family close by. I had been in touch with her within the past

Hugh Stanley Pierce 21st June 1926 - 8th February 2010
Committal Service Saturday, May 22, 2010 1:00 PM Derby Center Cemetery
February 8, 2010 Hugh Stanley Pierce, 83, resident of Orleans died Monday, February 8, 2010 with his family at his side. Hugh
was born on June 21, 1926 in Newport, Vt. the son of Hubert S. and
Marjorie (Patterson) Pierce. He grew up in Newport and graduated from
Newport High School in 1943. He served in the U.S. Navy and attended
St. Lawrence University where he enjoyed competing on the men’s ski
team. In his younger years he
worked for Tidewater Oil Company as a salesman and then made his career
at Ethan Allen Manufacturing, Orleans Division for over 25 years.
Hugh was a sports enthusiast who enjoyed golfing, fishing, and watching
any and all sporting events on T.V. He was a member of the Orleans
Country Club for 45 years and when he retired he enjoyed many years
working in the Orleans Country Club pro shop. He was a member of the
American Legion Post 23 where he shared many “happy hours” with his
friends. Hugh is survived by his wife Virginia (Ginger) of 61 years;
four children: Carol Boucher, Jane Horton and her husband Bob, Bev Gage
and her husband Peter, and Jeffrey Pierce and his wife Sally, four
granddaughters: Meghan and Emily Boucher, Jessica Gage and her husband
Michael Day, Molly Gage and fiancé AC Heyward and one
step-granddaughter Bria Horton. He was predeceased by his grandson
Nicholas Gage and sisters: Rosalie (Pierce) Keith, Barbara (Pierce)
Searles, and Mary (Pierce) Mosher. A memorial service will be held in
the Spring at the convenience of the family. For those wishing to
make donations in Hugh’s memory the family suggests the Orleans Country
Club course equipment fund; in care of Peter Lanoue, P.O. Box 8,
Orleans, Vt. 05860.

Raymond G. Heath25th August 1925 - 6th February 2010
RAYMOND
G. HEATH ESSEX JCT., VT - Raymond G. "Babe" / "Fuzz" Heath, 84, died
Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010 at his home on Maple Street with his family at
his bedside. He was born on Aug. 25, 1925 in Barton Vt., the son of
Clyde S. and Alice (Grant) Heath. He graduated early from Barton
Academy in order to enlist in the U.S. Navy. While in the Navy, he
served as a radio operator in the Pacific Theater of operations on the
USS Gendreau. After the War he attended the University of Vermont,
graduating in 1950 with a degree in Business. He was a member of the
UVM Baseball Team and Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. After gra  d uation Ray worked briefly at Champlain Valley Fruit. Soon after he was hired by General Electric and worked there until he retired in 1985. At GE he was proud to be an Elfun. Ray was an avid sportsman and conti nued
to play Baseball and participated in league bowling for many years. He
enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening and televised sports of every
kind. His special passion was golf and he was a member of the Orleans
Country Club for over 40 years. Ray was also very proud of his Navy
years and attended yearly reunions with his USS Gendreau Shipmates. He
was a member of the American Legion and VFW. Ray is survived by; his
daughter Mary and her husband John Stec of St Helens Oregon, son
Charles Heath and his wife Maureen of Bakersfield, VT, and sons Jeff
and Ray Heath of Essex Jct., VT, grandchildren; Jason and Justin Stec,
Ryan Heath, Noelle Garvy, Robin Parker, Shannon Heath, 15
greatgrandchildren and four great-great grandchildren; his sister Alice
Celia and her husband Fred of Spring Hill, Fla. In addition to his wife
Esther, he was predeceased in death by infant son Grant and brother
Stanley Heath. At Ray's request there will be no Services. Corbin &
Palmer Funeral and Cremation Service, 9 Pleasant Street, Essex Jct.,

Virgil F. Smith
15th March 1926 - 28th May 2009
Virgil
F. Smith, 83, of Orleans died May 28, 2009, in Lebanon, NH. He was born
March 15, 1926 in Newport a son of Ernest and Gladys (Green) Smith. On
Decemeber 26, 1946 he married Charlotte Houghaboom who survives him.
Mr. Smith was manager for Beacon Feed Store in Orleans. He was a long
time member of the Orleans Country Club, the Masonic Union Lodge #106
F&AM, the American Legion Post 23, and the Lions Club all of
Orleans. Mr. Smith was also a member of the Orleans Federated Church
and the IAABO Basketball Officials. He is survived by his wife
Charlotte Smith of Orleans, his children: David Smith and his wife
Debbie of Orleans, Randy Smith and his wife Pam of Orleans. He is also
survived by the following grandchildren: Aaron Smith and his wife Janet
of Orleans, Chris Smith and his wife Shelly of Irasburg, Corey Smith
and his friend Melissa Fontaine of Irasburg, Erik Smith of Barton,
Sandra Hicks and her husband Bryon of Conn, and Melissa Durkee
and her friend Greg Madec of Conn and by the following great
grandchildren: Christen, Erin, Makenzie, Bronson, Alyssa, Ashlyn, and
Andrew. He is also survived by a brother Kermit Smith and his wife
Gloria of Newport and by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was
predeceased by a brother Milton Smith, a sister Erlene Preble, and by a
grandson Shawn Smith. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m.
Thursday, June 4, 2009 at the Orleans Federated Church with the Rev.
Carol Borland officiating. Friends may call from 12 noon at the Church
on Thursday, June 4, 2008 until the hour of the funeral. Should friends

Betsey Kuzich
March 3, 2009
Betsey Kuzich a former member passed away March 3rd. Betsey and her
husband Tony moved to Illinois when she became ill with cancer.
The funeral home will be happy to pass on any condolences and any gifts

Dr. Stanley Hardy Kipp
4th November 1918 - 23rd January 2009
A member for over 75 years.
His father, Archie, was one of the charter members of the club.
November 4, 1918 - January 2009 Born November 4, 1918, 90, a
lifetime resident of Orleans, Vermont and Haines City, Florida died
peacefully in Kissimmee, Florida.
Stanley was the son of Archie and Lana Kipp of Orleans. He attended schools
in Orleans and graduated Orleans High School in 1936, attended Vermont Junior
College and also had a route as a truck driver for Turnbull Ice Cream Company
around Northern Vermont. Stan then went to serve in the Army during WWII as a
Sergeant of a medical detachment. He returned and eventually attended the
Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, Illinois. Stan came back to Vermont
and setup his Optometry Business in Montpelier, Vermont and eventually moved
it to Orleans, Vermont serving the different communities for over 30 years.
He was a very avid golfer and won many tournaments over the years with many
trophies. He could shoot his age or under for many of his late years. In
Orleans High School besides playing golf, he was a key basketball player
along with his brother Richard against many of the local high school teams in
the area. The Orleans basketball team also won the state championship and
went to the New England tournament in Hartford, CT. He was a member of
Orleans Country Club since 1933 and became so successful he won the club
championship early in his years and had to even play against his father
Archie at least once during the times he won. He supported and is a member of
the American Legion in Orleans, Vermont. He made a lot of friends on the golf
course and in his business and will be sadly missed by many. He spent his
last retirement years in Haines City, Florida and summers in Vermont. He was
a very kind, loving and devoting father to his kids and will be greatly
missed.
Mr. Kipp is survived by his daughter, Sandra and Dale McFee of Lake Worth,
Florida; two sons, Douglas W. Kipp of Kissimmee, Florida; Peter and Debra
Kipp of Woodbury, Vermont; and his sister, Mrs. Betty Thurber of Middlebury,
Vermont.
Stan was predeceased by 2 sons, Michael J. Kipp in 1996 and Frederick M. Kipp
in 2008; and his brother Richard Kipp. He leaves 17 Grand Children and 9
Great Grand Children.
A memorial Service will be held later this summer in the Archie Kipp Family
lot in Pleasant View Cemetery, Orleans.

Chuck
Dudley was passionate about life and especially Orleans Country Club.
Chuck's
great loves were his family, his faith, sports and GOLF! As a
continuous member
of OCC for over 50 years and as our treasurer for over 25 years, Chuck
gave
unconditionally of his time and expertise to our club. Orleans Country
Club's
financial well being was always Chuck's utmost concern and his willing
spirit
and loyalty were absolute. Our good friend and colleague will be deeply
missed
by all of us at OCC. Our thoughts and prayers are with Chuck's wife
Terry, his
twin daughters Tricia and Wendy and the whole Dudley family who are all
friends
of Orleans Country Club.

Scott Tournament Dedication
In
honor of Chuck Dudley
September
13 & 14, 2008
The
board of Directors and the Tournament Committee honored Chuck
for
the many years of dedication and service he gave to the club at the
Fall Scott Tournament. Chuck spent over 45 years as a part of the
"Orleans Country Club family."
Thank
you Chuck, for everything you did for us, and for being our friend.
Don't
be surprised if a "fifth player" joins you somewhere on the course.
Golfers know that fivesomes are NOT allowed on the course, but more
than once during the 08 summer a "fifth player" joined OCC members during a
round of golf.

In Loving Memory of Dennis Jenkins
18th October 1938 –
15th
December 2007
Dennis had been a director
since 1982. He served
in many capacities over the years including past president of Orleans
Country Club and was always an active member of the board. Golf and OCC
were great passions of Dennis. He was a tremendous asset to the board
of directors and always had the best interest of the club at heart. He
will be missed greatly by his friends at OCC. He was born in England
and after earning a degree in Engineering he
immigrated to the US to work at Space Research Corp. Dennis later
started his own business Phoenix Engineering Inc. Dennis is survived by
his wife Margaret Hunter and their family.

William "Bill" Emerson Grant
15th December 1921 - 23rd July 2009
William
“Bill” Emerson Grant, 87, of Wantagh, New York, died July 23, 2009, in
Newport. Mr. Grant was born December 15, 1921, a son of Jay Pittman and
Helma (Jensen) Grant in Jersey City, New Jersey. He
served his country in World War II in the U.S. Navy aboard the aircraft
carrier USS Bunker Hill stationed in the Pacific Ocean. He was
discharged in 1947.
He married Lois Moss on July 2, 1948, and they were happily married for 61 years. His wife predeceased him on A pril
18. They
made their home in Wantagh, where they raised two children, Keith and
Patti. Mr. Grant made his living as a plant supervisor for an
injection molding company, while Mrs. Grant taught kindergarten in
Copiague schools. They were charter members of the Levittown Community
Church in New York and remained active members throughout their lives.
Mr.
Grant began spending summers in Westmore when he was a young boy, and
he worked at the Willoughvale Farm when it was a working farm in the
1930s. When he married Lois, they began a lifelong tradition of
spending vacations at Lake Willoughby after stopping at Taylor’s Cabins
on their way home from their Canadian honeymoon. He and his family
spent time at the Willoughvale, Green Acres, Fosters Grove, and finally
with the Lukas in Brownington. He was a member of Orleans Country Club
for many years. He found great pleasure in the wildlife that Vermont
had to offer, especially feeding the birds and chipmunks.
He is
survived by his two children, Keith Grant and his wife, Charlotte, and
Patti Lukas and her husband, Gary; by seven grandchildren: Kevin Grant
and his fiancée, Diana, Thomas Grant and his wife, Calista, Colleen
Grant, Nicholas Carrillo and his wife, Meredith, Shaun Carrillo and his
fiancée, Valerie, Christopher Lukas and Randy Lukas; and by
great-grandson Trevor Grant.
